SLRWA 10th Annual Northern Pike Challenge Rules

 

1. Entrants can sign up at: Chapman’s Sport Shop (Black Lake), St. Lawrence Archery (East Orvis, Massena), North Woods

Outfitter’s (Potsdam), Uppstrom’s Bait & Tackle (Waddington) and JC’s River Run (Waddington).  Sign ups at the above locations end Thursday, February 18, 2016. You may also sign up at the Louisville Fire Station #2 the morning of the ice derby.

2. The entry fee is $30.00 until February 12, 2016. The entry fee increases to $35.00 on February 13, 2016. 

3. Each entrant must check in at Louisville Fire Station #2 located on Rt. 37 (approx: 5 miles east of Coles Creek and approx: 3 miles west of Massena). Registration begins at 3:00am and ends at 7:00am. NO EXCEPTIONS. Registrants will be given a number for door prizes.

4. *READ NEW*Contest runs from 7:00am–2:00pm on February 20, 2016. All prizes will be awarded at 3:30pm at the Waddington Arena. By Law, there will be no coolers, backpacks, dark colored bags or bottles allowed inside the Waddington Arena forthe awards ceremony.

5. *READ NEW*The fishing boundaries are: Fobare’s Pond from the train trestle to Rt. 37 including Coles Creek Marina and Bay,Wilson Hill, Brandy Brook and White House Bay in Waddington.

6. There is a youth division at $15.00 per youth. Children up to the age of 15 are eligible (prizes based on largest perch) to fish the youth division. Youths may fish the adult division if they pay the adult entry fee. Youths may only fish one division.

7. $1100.00 per hour will be paid out to the top four places (1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th $100); based on 1,000 entries, any less thepayout will be based on the number of entries.

8. $100.00 will be awarded for the biggest walleye of the day, brought to you by our good friends at Three Rivers Taxidermy. After fish are weighed they become property of the SLRWA.

9. **READ NEW**$ 5K Fish Off on Sunday. Saturday’s seven 1st place hourly winners and an additional 23 randomly drawn registrants will compete on Sunday, February 21 for a $5,000 cash prize. The location of the $5K Fish off will be determined by tournament officials and announced on Saturday. The $5K Fish Off runs from 7-11am.

10. Five tip-ups and two hand lines will be allowed for adults. Two hand lines only for youths in the youth division. **NEW** $5K Fish Off participants will be allowed only 3 tip ups.

11. N0 DEAD FISH WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY.  All fish must come to the scales in a container of water (fish bag, cooler,bucket, etc.) with head and gills in water. This is a catch and release event. Please help us protect our fishery.

12. Fish may not be held for entry in another hour. When a fish is landed it must be entered for that hour.

13. Fish must be weighed on the official scales at the weigh station by an event official. Weigh stations will be marked. In the event of a tie in weight, the first fish entered will win.

14. All fish become property of the event officials after they are weighed.

15. No fishing is allowed inside closed shelters. All fishing must be done in open view of the officials.

16. Ice cannot be reserved.

17. Any unsportsmanlike conduct, as determined by the event officials will be cause for disqualification.

18. No vehicles are allowed on the ice after midnight other than ATV’s and snowmobiles which are properly registered and insured.

19. Please remember that the property other than the access area to the fishing areas is private property. Please respect the property owners rights.

20. In case of poor ice conditions due to an extremely warm winter, the SLRWA has the right to cancel the event, date, payout structure,location and/or refund entry fee.
