A Word From the President

Hello fellow Fisherman and Friends,

Its has been two years since the inception of the SLRWA .  We're still growing with personal membership  on the rise along with many new business sponsors.  New Membership cards are being issued with new sponsors on the back of our card.  We welcome Coach's Corner, the Ale House and Nature's Trophey's.  As always, if you use your membership privileges, it pays for your yearly membership Dues!!

Walleye seasoh is rapidly approaching and so is the SLRWA Ed's Bait and tackle Opening Day Derby ( May 3rd) held out of Waddington, N.Y. You check it out by clicking on the Opening Day Derby link here on the website.   Or visit our local Bait Shops - Ed's bait and Tackle, Waddington and Northern Harness, Massena - for more info.

This year the SLRWA is offering our members a chance to compete for Angler and Co-Angler of the year awards to be presented at the Fall Classic (Sept. 13th). YOU MUST be a member of the SLRWA to compete.

As we dig out our boats and prepare for the upcoming season, be sure to check the New Canadian reuluataions as there is "significant" changes in the Canadian waters for Zone20 for 2008-2009 season.

Join us in our membership drive:  The SLRWA is doing a quarterly membership drive.  Members can win prizes for signing up new members.  All you have to do is pickup membership applications from a board member or at Norther Harness, Ed's bait and Tackle or print them from our website (go to the member Application link).  AT the bottom of the application write "Referred by " and your name.  IF you sign up a business sponsor, it is worth 5 points. Each personal membership is worth 1 point.  At the end of each quarter (the next one ending in June), you can win a rod and reel combo (30 points), SLRWA jacket (20 points), polo shirt (10 points) or an SLRWA hat (5 points).
