The St. Lawrence River

The St. Lawrence River is a vast natural resource, stretching some 800 miles from its origin at Eastern Lake Ontario to the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Quebec. The river becomes a Canadian waterway just East of Massena, New York, which is central to the St. Lawrence Seaway operations. The river is the worlds longest deep-drafted inland waterway, allowing for navigation from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean.

The river system is vast and varied. In many places, the river takes on a scenic "Wilderness" , with sparce populations and magnificent scenery. Sometimes serene and gentle, sometimes powerful and ferocious, the river is nothing less than Awesome.
