7th Annual Northern Pike Challenge Rules 1. Entrants can sign up at: Sandy’s Custom Tackle (Lisbon), Chapman’s Sport Shop (Black Lake), Green Machine Bait and Tackle (Irish Settlement Rd, Waddington), American Legion (East Orvis St., Massena), North Woods Outfitter’s (Potsdam), Uppstrom’s Bait & Tackle (Waddington)..Sign ups at the above locations ends Thursday, February 21, 2013. You may also sign up at the fire station the morning of the ice derby. 2. The entry fee is $30.00 until February 16, 2013; the entry fee increases to $35.00 on February 17, 2013. 3. Each entrant must check in at Louisville Fire Station #2 Located on Rt. 37 approx: 5 miles east of Coles Creek and approx: 3 miles west of Massena before starting to fish. You will be given a number for door prizes. Registration begins at 3:00 am and ends at 7:00 am. NO EXCEPTIONS. 4. Contest runs from 7:00am – 3:00pm on February 23, 2012. All prizes awarded at 4:00 pm at Sandy Beach. 5. The fishing boundaries are: Fobares Pond from the train trestle to Rt. 37 including Coles Creek Marina and Bay, Wilson Hill, and Brandy Brook in Waddington. 6. There is a youth division at $10.00 per youth. Children up to the age of 15 are eligible (Prizes based on Largest Perch). Youths may fish the adult division if they pay the adult entry fee. Youths may only fish one division. 7. $1000.00 per hour will be paid out to the top three places (1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200); based on 1,000 entries, any less the payout will be based on the number of entries. There will be 50/50 raffles and many door prizes. 8. $100.00 will be awarded for the biggest walleye of the day); based on 1,000 entries, any less the payout will be based on the number of entries. After they are weighed they become property of the SLRWA. 9. N0 DEAD FISH WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY. All fish must come to the scales in a container with water (fish bag, cooler bucket, etc.) with head and gills in water. This is a catch and release event. Please help us protect our fishery. 10. Fish may not be held for entry in another hour. When a fish is landed it must be entered for that hour. 11. Fish must be weighed on the official scales at the weigh station by an event official. Weigh stations will be marked. In the event of a tie in weight, the first fish entered will win. 12. All fish become property of the event officials after they are weighed. 13. No fishing allowed inside closed shelters. All fishing must be done in open view of the officials. 14. Ice cannot be reserved. 15. Any unsportsmanlike conduct, as determined by the event officials will be cause for disqualification. 16. NO vehicles allowed on the ice after midnight other than ATV’s and snowmobiles which are properly registered and insured. 17. Warning: DEC has announced that they will be in the area checking for helmets on ATV’s, snow machines, and checking for conservation violations. 18. Please remember that the property, other than the access area to the fishing areas, is private property. Please respect the property owner’s rights. 19. Five tip-ups and two hand lines will be allowed for adults. Two hand lines only for youths in the youth division. 20. In case of bad ice, prizes will be awarded at 12:00pm February 23, 2012 at Louisville Fire Station. 21. In the event that an hourly prize is not awarded due to lack of entries, money will be awarded as determined by the event officials.
